3 More Simple Ways to Add Cottage Charm to Your Home

Even if you don’t live in a rustic cottage or countryside hideaway, you can still add cottage charm to your home to create that cozy, retreat-like feeling right where you are. With just a few thoughtful touches, your home can become a space that feels warm, comforting, and truly your own.

In a previous post, I shared four easy ways to begin to create a cottage vibe in your home. Here are three more gentle, simple touches that helped us bring cottage charm to our modern space.

1. Little Nooks made for rest

Every home needs small spaces for slowing down. In ours, we created cozy corners just for us, by a window, beside a garden door, or in a quiet hallway. A chair, a lamp, a cup of tea. These are the spaces where the world softens and the heart can breathe.

2. A tiny garden full of life

We planted herbs in terracotta pots, flowers in old wooden boxes, and berries along the fence. Even the smallest garden can bring you back to the rhythm of the earth. I love stepping outside to snip rosemary or gather petals for a little vase on the kitchen table.

3. bringing nature inside

Bring Nature Inside

We often bring home what we find on our walks. Wildflowers in spring, berries in summer, pinecones in winter. A bundle of herbs drying in the kitchen, a basket of wood by the back door, a jar of collected stones and feathers. These small gestures root us in the seasons and remind us to live in harmony with the land, not just beside it.

Slowly and with warm intention, anyone can create a space that feels like a cottage, a reflection of the life you want to live: simple, slow, and filled with love.

With a warm cup in hand, and a heart full of gratitude,

Ana
